We are happy to learn that the conductor Anna Sułkowska-Migoń received the “Polityka’s Passport 2022” award in the category of classical music. We also have the honor to announce that she will conduct the concert of the Polish-Israeli symphony orchestra organized by the Warsaw Ghetto Museum on the occasion of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising 80th anniversary.
Anna Sułkowska-Migoń graduated from the K. Penderecki Academy of Music in two majors: symphonic conducting in the class of Ł. Borowicz and choral conducting in the class of L. Matynian and A. Korzeniowski. She also holds a bachelor’s degree at The Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in orchestra conducting class and a Master’s Degree in viola at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. Ms. Sułkowska-Migoń has twice received the National Institute of Music and Dance scholarship in the Conductor-in-Residence program. She is also the winner of the prestigious La Maestra competition in Paris (2022), The Taki Alsop Fellowship Award Recipient of 2022-2024 and the Young Promoter of Poland award recipient (2022). She has been collaborating with Polish and foreign orchestras.
She received “Polityka’s Passport” “for her immense musicality, sensitivity and uncommon joy of creating art. For her consistent work, which led last year to international successes with victory in the Paris competition La Maestra in the lead”.
The concert by the Polish-Israeli symphony orchestra conducted by Anna Sułkowska-Migoń will take place on April 19, 2023 in Teatr WIelki – Polish National Opera. The program includes: Mieczysław Weinberg’s Symphony No. 8 “Polish Flowers” and a piece by Elżbieta Sikora composed specially for the occasion. The event will be a part of the commemoration of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising 80th anniversary.
“Polityka’s Passports” is the award for Polish artists established by the Polish weekly newspaper “Polityka” in 1993. It is presented in six major categories, including classical music, pop music, literature and theater.
